A short (very short) iMovie test I made this afternoon using slow motion, replay and transitions to create rhythm and narrative.

Started a screen printing course a few weeks ago, here one of my first finished prints on the drying rack. Apologies for the picture quality, apparently thats not a BlackBerry’s forte!
Here’s a little something I put together yesterday…
Entitled “Porcelain” it features three figurines from my grandmother’s collection that now sit on the piano in my parent’s living room.
For his birthday I gave my Dad an ink drawing of two squirrel monkeys I drew sometime last year. He took the liberty of framing it… I reckon it looks pretty smart!
House of Cards. Business cards to be exact.
I’ve recently designed a set of business cards. Individually they look like coloured marks; when you assemble them they become a house. The idea behind the project being to represent a house of design where different elements are combined under one roof.
Royal West of England Academy
Queen’s Road, Clifton, Bristol.
9th March -29th April 2012
An exhibition that is both insightful and concise. Well worth a visit.
100 years condensed into 60 images, the exhibition succinctly shows the medium’s evolution from b&w to colour images, from the post war 1930s to the present day. The selection makes reference to the link between fashion and fine art photography as well as showing its transgression into a medium for social comment. It features images by David Bailey, which in turn demonstrate fashion photography’s changing accessibility, from an elitist art form, to a mainstream cultural agent. Portraits of teen models Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy from the 1960s show the move away from elitism, embracing youth culture. This is combated by the inclusion of an image from Rankin’s 1997 Silver Ladies series shot for Dazed and Confused.
Entry is £5 for adults, £3 for concessions which includes entry to all the rwa exhibitions on at the same time.
Sneak a peek at a few of the photographs on the RWA’s flicker page:
